Greenfield police ID 4-year-old who died after having flu-like symptoms

GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Greenfield are investigating the death of a 4-year-old child.

According to a release, emergency personnel were called to a home on Bourneside Drive shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday after receiving a call about an unresponsive child.

Greenfield police and fire departments responded to the home of Mark and Angella Gilliatte, where the child, Noah, was found in the bedroom on his bed. Police say there was no indication in regards to foul play.

The family indicated that Noah had flu-like symptoms Wednesday evening. Andrea said she was with the child until 8:30 p.m. and went back to check on him at 10:30 p.m. She told police Noah was still sick, but doing fine.

Authorities say when the family woke up, Andrea went to check on Noah and found him unresponsive.

An autopsy and toxicology test will determine the cause of death. The Indiana Department of Child Services and the coroner’s office are investigating.
