HENDRICKS COUNTY (WISH) – Emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash that left one person dead and three injured on Saturday evening.

The crash happened just before 6 p.m. on County Road 1000 South and State Road 39, that’s just south of I-70.

Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department confirmed one person died as a result of the crash.

Police say two motorcycles were traveling westbound on County Road 1000 South, when an eastbound vehicle crossed the center line striking one of the motorcycles head on. The motorcyclist who was struck was killed. Their passenger was flown to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was also flown to a nearby hospital. Their vehicle went off the roadway, hit a guard rail then came to a rest in a creek bed after the crash.

The second motorcyclist who was behind the first motorcycle laid their bicycle down to avoid the crash. The driver was not injured. However, their passenger was taken to the hospital for precaution.

Police have not released the identities of those involved in the crash or the extend of the injuries of those taken to the hospital.
