IMPD locates body near downtown

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police say a body was found near downtown Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon.

The dead body was found just before 1 p.m. near the 2000 block of Yandes Street, that’s about one block from the Monon Trail.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department told 24-Hour News 8 that a neighbor alerted them of the body.

Police say they are investigating this as a death investigation. Detectives don’t have an identity or cause of death.

Other details were limited Saturday afternoon.
