IMPD names man killed on east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police have identified a man found dead after a shooting on the city’s east side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 600 block of North Oxford Street around 8:45 p.m. Sunday.

As officers arrived, they heard several shots coming from a duplex in the area. Just inside the entryway of a home, officers saw several shell casings.

Officers entered through an unsecured door and found a dead man with multiple gunshot wounds. IMPD officials identified him as 26-year-old Ulric Reid, of Indianapolis.

Christopher Wilburn, an IMPD public information officer, told 24-Hour News 8 that they are familiar with this area. A narcotics warrant was served at the duplex just last week.
