Actor Sean Carrigan, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS talks about his role in the popular daytime drama

Actor Sean Carrigan, talks about his role as Dr. Ben “Stitch” Rayburn on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. Sean is in town to preview his upcoming romantic comedy “Strangely in Love,” directed by Sundance award winning director Amin Matalqa that is being featured at this year’s Heartland Film Festival .

Showings of “Strangely in Love” continue at the AMC Castleton – Tuesday 10/21, 4:30pm; Wednesday 10/22, 7pm and Saturday 10/25, 10:45am.

Sean Carrigan is a former professional boxer turned stand-up comedian, actor and producer.   He made his debut on “The Young and the Restless” in June, 2013 as former army medic, Dr. Ben “Stitch” Rayburn.   Carrigan was originally hired for a four episode arc that eventually turned into a contract role. Stitch is now a doctor at Memorial Hospital in Genoa City. In addition to his role on “The Young and the Restless,” Sean has appeared in numerous films, TV shows, and commercials including the Lifetime TV Movie “Call Me Crazy” starring opposite Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson and directed by Ashley Judd. He has guest starred on TV series including “Modern Family,” “The Closer,” “Hart of Dixie,” and was the recurring character, “Devon” on the NBC TV series, “The Event.” Carrigan was recently seen in the Tyler Perry film, “Single Mom’s Club,” where he played the love interest of Wendy McClendon-Covey (Bridesmaids), and will be in the upcoming romantic comedy, “Strangely in Love,” directed by Sundance award winning director Amin Matalqa. Sean is also a comedian and co- founder of the production company, Woodhead Entertainment.   Focusing on original shorts, branded media and feature films, their motto is: “seriously funny offbeat humor with professional execution.” With Woodhead Entertainment, Carrigan contributes as both a producer and actor. His comedic performance as Brett Favre in the viral parody hit “Brett Favre: Rise – What should I do?” gained over 4 million views and has garnered him great reviews.
