Balanced approach keeps Colts on winning track

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Colts have finally come up with the perfect balance.

They lead the NFL in total yards and possession time and are second in points per game. They lead the league in net punting, in successful onside kicks and have the best clutch kicker in the league. And with a top 10 defense in five major categories — total yards, yards rushing, yards passing, sacks and points allowed per game — the Colts now stand as the only team in the league with an offense and defense both ranked in the top five.

No, it’s not supposed to work go this smoothly in the salary cap era. But Indy (5-2) has found a way to get all of it right.
