INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police on Monday identified the man shot and killed by an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer over the weekend. They also released the names of two men charged in connection to the robbery that prompted the shooting.
An officer shot 22-year-old Terrell Lucas Saturday night; he later died. Lucas was one of three masked men who robbed a GameStop, holding employees at gunpoint, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said. Lucas ran from police and refused to drop his weapon, IMPD officials said.
Police arrested 21-year-old Jalil Hannah and 23-year-old Water Fells III, who IMPD characterized as Lucas’ accomplices. All three men are from Chicago.
The Marion County prosecutor’s office charged Hannah and Fells with murder, robbery and criminal confinement.
According to court documents police say an officer shot and killed one of the men after police say he pointed what appeared to be a gun at them. The court documents also say the weapon used was a pellet gun and a stun gun.
Police are also looking for Darryl Hannah, a cousin of one of the suspects. Investigators say Hannah dropped off the three men and left the Game Stop in a Ford Taurus. The car was later found and towed.
