Cowan Community Schools dismissed early

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — A school system in Delaware County dismissed students early Tuesday due to a power outage.

Cowan Community Schools officials said the power outage was affecting the district’s wells, meaning students wouldn’t have access to water. Students were sent home around 11 a.m.

Evening events at Cowan Community Schools hadn’t been canceled as of Tuesday afternoon. The superintendent was hopeful power would be restored so the events could go on as scheduled.

Indiana Michigan Power indicated about 500 customers in that area were without electricity Tuesday.
