INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A person reported what they thought was a “suspicious package” on Monument Circle Saturday afternoon, according to Indiana State Police.

ISP Sgt. Rich Myers said someone’s belongings, including clothes, a water bottle, shaving cream and books, were set down at the circle. A passerby alerted police about it.

Myers said a man came forward and said the belongings were his. The bomb squad was still called in to check it out, but the bag was given the all clear after about an hour.

“Exactly what should have happened, if you see something, say something,” Sgt. Myers said. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
