INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police said two people were shot on the city’s near south side Sunday night.
According to IMPD spokesman Rafael Diaz, the shooting happened in the 2100 block of S. East Street around 8:50 p.m. That’s near E. Raymond Street and Madison Avenue.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds to their abdomens inside of a home that’s divided into several apartments.
Diaz said the two victims were listed in serious, but stable, condition as of 9:20 p.m. Both were taken to Eskenazi Health.
Police said they don’t know what the motive of the shooting was, but they don’t believe it was a random act.
No arrests have been made and police do not have any suspect information as of Sunday night.
