HOWARD COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Police arrested a man following a break-in and pursuit in Howard County early Friday morning.

According to the Howard County Sheriff’s Department, a man who lives in the 5000 block of Four Mile Drive told police a man knocked on his door asking for help with a vehicle around 2 a.m.

The man refused to let him in, but the suspect, later identified as Kenneth Moore, 21, forced his way into the home, along with other unidentified suspects.

Police said the suspects then left the home and fired shots into a car parked in the victim’s driveway before leaving.

Police saw a car fleeing in the area of the break-in and chased it. The pursuit lasted several minutes before the occupants abandoned the vehicle in the 300 block of South Lea Drive.

Moore was arrested at the scene. Police said the vehicle was found to be owned by Heather O’Neal, of Tipton. O’Neal told police she loaned her car to an unknown man earlier that day on Thursday.

According to officers, Moore was booked into the Howard County Jail on charges of Adding Causing and Inducing Criminal Recklessness and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.

The sheriff’s department said the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with additional information on this incident should call police at (765) 456-2031.
