INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Parents of North Central High School students were notified on Friday about a gun that was found in a student’s vehicle.
The following message was sent out through the MSD of Washington Township’s phone messaging system to North Central families:
This is Mr. Branigan. I’m calling to share with you that today at school; it was brought to administrations’ attention by civic minded students, that a classmate may be possession of a firearm on school property. Upon investigation, a weapon was recovered from a student’s vehicle in the student parking lot. North Central administration and representatives from local law enforcement agencies worked in tandem in response to the situation. The student and weapon were removed from school without incident.
I’d like to commend those students who disclosed the information to administration bringing a safe conclusion to a disheartening situation. As your principal, I extend my appreciation to all parties involved in ensuring a safe and secure learning environment.
