BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) — Seniors in Beech Grove will soon have a new living option.
Wednesday, the city broke ground on a brand new, $9.2 million, 55 plus living facility on Churchman Avenue.
The homes will be cottage-style and are designed for independent living, but the facility will offer support services, social and exercise options and picnic areas.
The mayor says names are already being put on a waiting list.
“This area of the county, especially Beech Grove, has a high demand for above 55 living,” said Mayor Dennis Buckley. “So it’s not surprising that we’re already funneling people to look into these apartments and it’s not even built yet.”
Construction should start in a few weeks and wrap up by late next year.
