2 pedestrians struck, killed on city’s west side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two men are dead following a hit and run on the city’s west side Sunday morning shortly before 3:30 a.m.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department told 24-Hour News 8 that the men were found on 38th Street near High School Road. Police say both men were hit while trying to cross the eastbound lanes of traffic.

Police are still searching for a suspect. It is believed that vehicle is a black 2005-2007 Ford Focus and missing the passenger side mirror. Police say the vehicle could have moderate damage to the front-end or windshield.

According to a release the victims were struck by at least one other vehicle. Police say that driver is cooperating with the investigation.

The names of the victims were not released as of Sunday afternoon.
