LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) – A man robbing a Lafayette Village Pantry early Tuesday apologized then grabbed the cash.
Shortly after 12:45 a.m. Lafayette Police were called to the Village Pantry in the 1900 block of Schuyler Avenue on a robbery report.
The clerk told police a man entered the store and placed a plastic bag on the counter and told the clerk to “Put the money in the bag.”
The man then apologized saying, “I’m sorry but I have kids to feed.”
According to police no weapon was displayed during the robbery and the the clerk complied with the man’s demands.
The suspect described as a white male 5’6″ in height and around 170 pounds, grabbed the bag of money and fled the store, going eastbound on foot.
