Man pleads guilty in shooting near school

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man who shot a teenager near Arsenal Tech High School in June has pleaded guilty to an attempted murder charge.

Police officials at the time said William Alvies and the then 17-year-old girl were having an argument off school property when she ran from him. Investigators said Alvies shot her in the shoulder.

Alvies pleaded guilty to attempted murder and carrying a handgun charges Thursday as part of a plea deal.
