INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Everyone seems to have a story of a teacher who changed their lives.

The United Way of Central Indiana is taking nominations for the second annual Hubbard Life-Changing Teacher Award.

The award is worth 25,000 dollars.

Last year’s four winners were recognized Thursday morning with the help of Indiana Pacers Basketball Star Paul George.

Al and Kathy Hubbard have committed nearly a half million dollars to honoring exceptional educators.

“There are so many great teachers in IPS, and every system, who are going beyond the call of duty,” Al Hubbard explained.

You can nominate an IPS teacher through January 24.
