Two dead after shooting on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two people are dead after a shooting on the northeast side Thursday night.

According to IMPD dispatchers, the shooting happened at an apartment complex in the 9000 block of Briergate Court, near 30th Street and Post Road, around 7:42 p.m.

Police said when officers arrived, two men were found lying outside in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS declared both victims dead at the scene.

Officers have not yet identified the two victims, but 24-Hour News 8 spoke with a neighbor who said they appeared to be young men.  The neighbor said he was woken up by the gunshots.

IMPD detectives have not yet released any suspect information, but they continue to canvass the crime scene area as of Thursday night.
