INDOT warns of I-65 backups south of Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – INDOT is warning drivers to expect long, daytime traffic delays on I-65 in Marion and Johnson counties as construction crews work to finish pavement patching and striping before the end of the year.

The work, expected to take place this weekend, will impact the portions of the interstate from I-465 to the Johnson/Shelby County line.

Because of the early arrival of winter temperatures, officials said some of the construction work cannot be performed at night. So they’re urging traffic to avoid long, daytime backups by using U.S. 31 and other alternate routes instead.
