Girl hurt after shots fired at Fort Wayne home

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A young girl is in serious condition after shots were fired at a Fort Wayne apartment complex Saturday night.

According to Fort Wayne police spokesperson Chris Felton, police received several phone calls reporting gun shots fired in the 600 block of Bunt Drive, which is south of East Paulding Road and east of Hessen Cassel Road.

When police arrived there was a language barrier with the people in the area. They determined shots were fired at a Waterloo Gardens apartment from outside and went through the wall and struck the girl. She was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Felton said there were no witnesses at the scene. At this time there are no suspects and no vehicle descriptions.

This incident is still under investigation.
