Police ID two teens killed in northeast side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police have identified two teenage boys who were killed in a double shooting on the city’s northeast side on Thursday.

According to IMPD detectives, 18-year-old Robert Young and 16-year-old Deontae Butler, both of Indianapolis, were killed in an apartment complex parking lot in the 9000 block of Briergate Court. That’s near 30th Street and Post Road.

Police said Young and Butler both knew the shooters and it was not a random act.

Anyone with information on this double fatal shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Indiana at 262-TIPS (8477).
