WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – For the second year in a row, the Purdue University Dance Marathon raised more than $1 million for the Riley Hospital for Children.
More than 2,000 students participated in this year’s event, which featured speakers, stories from Riley patients and parents, and of course plenty of dancing. When the funds were counted, they totaled $1,002,510.28. – an increase of just over $2,000 from last year’s total of $1,000,471.03.
The inaugural event raised just $1,500. In the ten years since, the Purdue University Dance Marathon has raised about $3.4 million to support Riley Hospital.
