Light snow triggers accidents and slideoffs

INDIANAPOLIS. (WISH) – Light snow prompted law enforcement agencies to call on motorists to allow extra time for their travels Thursday.

Light snow covered roadways across central Indiana.  Area police agencies reported numerous accidents on Interstates 65 in Boone County, I-69 in Hamilton and Madison Counties, as well as interstates in the metro area.

Between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. State Police and County Sheriff’s Departments were swamped with reports of accidents.

Motorists as well as law enforcement officers reported bridges and overpasses, “a sheet of ice.”
