BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — After letting a large second-half lead slip away for the third straight game, Indiana held on for an 87-79 win against UNC Greensboro on Friday night.
Indiana (5-1) led by as many as 22 points in the second half, before UNC Greensboro (1-5) cut the lead to just six in the final moments of the game. The Spartans outscored Indiana 45-37 in the second half.
Perimeter defense continued to be an issue for the Hoosiers, as UNC Greensboro stayed in the game with hot shooting from behind the arc. The Spartans went 14 of 23 from distance, hitting 7 of 9 in the second half.
Indiana was led by freshman James Blackmon Jr. with 25 points and nine rebounds.
