INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Junior quarterback Max Bortenschlager threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns and running back Evan Christopher rushed 11 times for 62 yards and three touchdowns in Cathedral’s 56-7 victory over LaPorte in the Class 5A state title game.

Records fell, and the Irish cemented themselves in Indiana prep football history Saturday with their state-record 30th consecutive tournament win and unprecedented fifth straight state championship.

LaPorte senior running back Charles Salary ran for 123 yards and a touchdown, finishing the season with a school record 2,989 yards on the ground.
