One shot, two arrested in alley altercation

RICHMOND, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Richmond made an arrest in connection to a Sunday morning shooting.

Police say the shooting happened around 3 a.m. in the alley between 7th and 8th streets in Richmond. The victim was shot once in the face during an altercation.

According to police the victim, Tyvon Clayton, 19, had non-life threatening injuries. Clayton was taken to Reid Hospital then flown to IU Methodist Hospital.

Police arrested Michael T. Jonson, 23, just minutes after the shooting when they located his vehicle, along with two other subjects inside. A gun was also located on one of the subjects.

Jonson was preliminarily charged with aggravated battery.

Virgil Cole Isaacs was arrested and preliminarily charged with assisting a criminal, no operator’s license-ever and public intoxication.
