Police ID 3 killed in Whitley County crash

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (AP) — The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department has identified three people killed when the vehicle they were in went off the road, went down and an embankment and rolled over as a 50-year-old driver and two 19-year-old passengers.

The sheriff’s department says it doesn’t know what caused the vehicle driven by Perry Coffelt of Columbia City to leave the road about 11 p.m. Friday night. The other two victims were identified as 19-year-old Eric Hoffman of Columbia City and and 19-year-old Savannah Labenz of Churubusco.

A fourth person in the vehicle was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital with minor injuries.
