Colts players give kids warm shoes and hats

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – It will be a warmer holiday season for some 500 Indianapolis area school children.

Tuesday, students at Charles Fairbanks Elementary got new, properly-fitting shoes and warm, knit hats as part of the Cold Feet, Warm Shoes and Hats program.

Indianapolis Colts players and volunteers from Lids Sports Group, helped kids find the perfect pair of shoes, along with a hat and even some Colts gear.

“It’s a good feeling to come here and do this. I know a couple of years ago, we came out and helped build a playground here at the same school. It’s come full circle, it’s really good to give back to a place like this,” said Jerrell Freeman of the Colts.
