INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A driver was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after leading officers on a pursuit on an Indianapolis interstate.
It started a little before 2 p.m. near Interstate 65 and Keystone Avenue. Dispatchers with IMPD say a narcotics detective tried to pull the vehicle over, but the driver took off.
Police say at some point during the pursuit, the driver threw items out the window of the car, which police say was stolen.
The chase ended in the 2700 block of South Walcott Street with the driver and another individual in custody. No injuries were reported.
Officers were searching the area of Interstate 70 and Holt Road for whatever the driver threw from the vehicle during the pursuit.
