PTO money missing, police investigating

GREENSBURG, Ind. (WISH) – State authorities say a sum of money raised by a county school’s parent-teacher organization has disappeared.

Decatur County Community Schools Superintendent Johnny Budd told 24-Hour News 8’s news partners at the Daily News a person “is no longer involved with the PTO or the school district.” That person was associated with the school corporation, but was let go on Wednesday.

Superintendent Budd declined to comment further on the investigation.

Decatur County Sheriff Greg Allen also confirmed the investigation. He said Indiana State Police is handling the case.
