INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A group of people gathered on Monument Circle Thursday night to protest a New York choking death case.
On Thursday, a grand jury decided not to indict an officer who put unarmed Eric Garner in a chokehold, leading to his death.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, more than 100 people were downtown at the protest. IMPD also had to call in additional units because of the crowd on Monument Circle.
IMPD officials said two people were arrested because they refused to move out of the street.
