GE Global Research to invest $10 million in Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue University has announced GE Global Research is investing up to $10 million in a five-year partnership focused on research and development in advanced manufacturing.

Among the goals of the partnership are to lower manufacturing costs, improve speed and drive innovation. The partnership also will create educational opportunities for Purdue students.

Purdue University President Mitch Daniels says the school’s expertise in advanced manufacturing research and development and its long-standing relationship with GE make the partnership “a natural.”

GE chief technology officer Mark Little says manufacturing competitiveness starts with having the best technology and people to innovate, design and produce world-class products.
