INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Part of the CityWay YMCA will be a Franciscan St. Francis Health facility.
This is part of the larger goal to make Indianapolis a healthy place to live.
The site is under construction now. Of the 100,000 square foot facility, 13,000 square feet will go to St. Francis Health. The hospital will provide primary and specialty care, like doctors appointments, imaging, lab and therapy programs.
Organizers say rehabilitation patients will have access to the YMCA’s equipment and pools for therapy.
The YMCA’s groundbreaking was in July, and it should be finished in late 2015. It will have two pools, three gyms, an elevated running track and a roof deck for outdoor classes.
Franciscan St. Francis Health plans to open it’s medical offices in January 2016.
Organizers planned to have a ceremony Thursday morning to place the top steel beam at the YMCA site.
