INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Gov. Mike Pence has ordered flags at state facilities statewide to be flown at half-staff on Sunday to remember the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.
Pence ordered that flags be lowered at sunrise Sunday and remain at half-staff until sunset.
Pence also asks businesses and residents across Indiana to lower their flags to half-staff to pay tribute to the men and women who were injured or lost their lives on December 7, 1941. About 2,400 sailors, Marines and soldiers were killed at Pearl Harbor and other military installations on the island of Oahu.
