Police: man shot during Greenwood drug deal

GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) – Detectives say they have made an arrest in a weekend shooting in Greenwood.

Police arrested Lewis Grimes, 20, of Greenwood, for shooting Joseph Turner in the face during a deal to buy marijuana at a home in the 1200 block of Tanglewood Drive.

According to the Daily Journal, Grimes is a convicted felon, who was on house arrest in Marion County, when the crime occurred.

Joseph Turner had surgery at IU Health Methodist Hospital and was released.  Police are still investigating the incident and have not yet arrested Turner for allegedly selling drugs.

Grimes is being held at the Johnson County jail on $26,400 bond.
