TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Terre Haute police made a cold case arrest this week. It’s a case that was reopened in 2010.

According to new arrest records, Harry Rowley is in the Vigo County Jail booked on a charge of murder as of Sunday night.

Police believe Rowley was involved in the 1980 murders of Lucinda Farmer and Mary Quillen. The two were found in an alley on N. 14th Street with gunshot wounds to their heads.

Detectives went to interview Rowley in California earlier this year where he was serving a life sentence for murder.

Throughout the interview, detectives discovered enough information to issue an arrest warrant.

Terre Haute Police brought Rowley back from California late last week. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
