INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Green Bean Delivery donated nearly five tons of fresh produce to food banks in the cities it serves, such as Indianapolis.

The company delivered more than 2,000 pounds of items like carrots, apples, onions and potatoes to Gleaners Food Bank Monday morning.

Green Bean encouraged its members and fans to help feed those in need by participating in its “Like, Share, Give” Facebook campaign.

They say the response was overwhelming.

“This was so successful that we plan not to do this not just in the holiday season. It’s a year round thing, so we will look when they have a void and different seasons, maybe it’s March, maybe it’s summertime. And it’s a way for our members to get involved,” said Trisha Brand of Green Bean Delivery Marketing and Member Services Supervisor.

Besides Indy, Green Bean Delivery serves Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton Ohio. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
