Indy teen formally charged in 16-year-old’s murder

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office formally charged a teenager with murder on Thursday.

According to police, DeAngelo Hill, 17, is accused of shooting and killing Kayalleiujah Gibson, 16, of Indianapolis, on Sept. 7, 2014.

IMPD detectives said Gibson was found by a couple who was driving in the 4300 block of E. 34th Street. They said they saw Gibson lying in the road with his bike on top of him.

Hill is currently in custody at the Department of Corrections where he was already under arrest for the Sept. 12 shooting death of Tajh Johnson, 19, on the city’s northeast side. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
