Mourners seek justice during vigil for hit-and-run victim

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A large crowd held a prayer vigil on Friday night for Antenia Young who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Monday.

More than 100 people stood on the corner of 34th Street and Franklin Road where a driver hit Young.

During the vigil, the group prayed and various pastors gave words of comfort. The mourners lifted their candles together for justice.

“I see love. I see community coming together on this corner that I’ve been hoping for,” Pastor Samuel Nettles said.

“The love and support we’ve got this last couple days have been tremendous. God’s been good,” Valeria Boyd, Antenia’s cousin, said.

Police are still looking for the driver. Investigators believe the suspect is driving a dark colored SUV, possibly a Tahoe or Suburban with a model year between 2000 to 2006. Investigators believe the front passenger side will have damage.
