INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The holiday shopping season is winding down and locally owned stores are celebrating the season.
24-Hour News 8 first checked in with the gift shop Silver in the City ahead of Small Business Saturday after Thanksgiving and wanted to follow up on this last weekend before Christmas.
The store’s manager credits the month’s mild weather for boosting business. She also thinks more consumers are keeping support of small stores in mind.
“I think people have been pushing more for shopping small. I heard so many stories this weekend that they were at the mall and they weren’t busy but they came here and it was super packed which is really great to hear,” Andrea Culver said.
Some in the retail world called yesterday “Super Saturday.” Silver in the City said the day did indeed meet expectations as being one of the busiest of the year.
