Body found after fire in Warsaw home

WARSAW, Ind. (WANE) — Police are investigating a fire after the Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory found a dead body inside a residence.

Firefighters responded to the 1000 block of East Smith Street in Warsaw around 11:15 p.m. on Friday.

Police aren’t sure what caused the fire. They also don’t know how the person found inside the home died. An autopsy will be conducted early next week to determine the cause of death. Police expect to release the victim’s identity late Monday or on Tuesday.
