INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a shooting on the city’s west side Tuesday night.

Police say the shooting happened in the 6800 block of 11th Street just before 8 p.m. The victim was shot in the chest. He was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

According to police, a preliminary investigation relieved the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute between a step-father and his adult step-son. Police say the step-father shot his step-son.

The step-father stayed on the scene and was detained by police. Police were questioning the man, but have not made any arrests.

Anyone with information should call IMPD detectives at 317-327-3475.
