IMPD: Pedestrian hit by vehicle on near north side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person was transported to an Indianapolis hospital in critical condition Wednesday night after being hit by a vehicle on the city’s near north side.

It happened at West 38th Street and North Kenwood Avenue around 8:45 p.m.

A spokesperson for IMPD says the vehicle was traveling westbound on 38th St. and hit the pedestrian while they were attempting to cross the street. Police say the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk.

Medics transported the patient to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
