Two Indy churches hosting youth nights Friday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Keeping kids off the streets and away from crime is the mission behind the Department of Public Safety’s Youth Night.

The events are geared towards high school aged kids. They can play basketball, dance, eat and mingle at the Friendship Baptist Church and Fervent Prayer Church.

Reverend Charles Harrison of the Ten Point Coalition also helped organize the events. Last week’s youth night didn’t see a large turnout and leaders are hoping more kids will take part this week.

The events begin at 7 p.m. and go until 11 p.m. Each event can host up to 250 kids.
