Coroner IDs two victims in Marion house fire

MARION, Ind. (WISH) – The coroner has identified a man and a woman who were killed after a house fire on Saturday morning in Marion.

According to the Deputy Chief of Police Cliff Sessoms, the fire happened around 9 a.m. in the 1800 block of West 9th Street.

Grant County Coroner Stephen Dorsey said the victims, Melody Teegarden, 55, and Robin Lyons, 61, were not married but lived together at the home.

Dorsey said an autopsy was completed on Saturday. The cause of death for both victims was smoke inhalation.

Family members of the victims said five dogs also died in the fire.
