ISP reporting multiple slide-offs on Indiana roads

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Several slide-offs were reported on I-70 in western Indiana on Sunday due to weather.

Several Indiana counties were under a winter weather advisory until Tuesday morning.

Hendricks County police dispatchers say I-74 westbound was closed at mile marker 62 due to accidents in the area. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling.

24-Hour News 8 found several roads in Indianapolis were also slick.

Indiana State Police say several slide-offs were reported to the Putnamville post.

Trooper Kyle Hall responded to a seven vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of I-70 near the 41mile marker in Putnam County. Ronda Marsh, age 42, of Terre Haute, IN. was ejected during the crash. She was later transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital for treatment of leg and internal injuries. No other injuries were reported in the crash.

Another crash in Putnam County on I-70 near the 38 mile marker was reported. Blake Rattray, 22, of Fishers failed to stop for a Cloverdale Fire Rescue vehicle. The rescue vehicle was stopped in the passing lane with their emergency lights on. The car hit the rescue vehicle in the back causing the car to catch fire. The flames were quickly extinguished. Rattray was not injured.

A fatal crash was reported on US 231 just north of US 40. No other details about that crash were released.

ISP was also called to assist a head-on crash in Vermillion County on State Road 163 near Hazel Bluff Road. Two drivers were taken to Union Hospital in Clinton.
