Man struck by car on Indianapolis’ east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WISH) – An east side pedestrian was struck by a car on the Indianapolis near east side.

Early Saturday morning, police were called to a reported accident at Washington Ave. and Colorado St. When the responding police arrived, they saw a man unconscious on the ground and a car wrapped around a nearby utility pole.

According to the report, Calvin Castillo ran from the crash scene. He was found running from the accident and taken into custody. It was determined that Castillo was driving while intoxicated at the time of the accident.

The victim who was found unconscious has been named as 37-year-old Joseph McKenney. He was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.
