Police seek suspect in south side bank robbery

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police in Indianapolis are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a local bank robbery.

It happened Jan. 2 around 3:30 p.m. at the Regions Bank located at 6910 South Emerson Avenue.

Witnesses told police a man in his mid to late 20s walked into the bank and handed the teller a note that implied he was armed.

Police say the suspect fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash. The man was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and has light-colored hair. He is described as having a small-build and is approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Anyone with information is urged to call the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at (317) 595-4000 or Crime Stoppers of Indiana at (317) 262.TIPS (8477). Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274637 (CRIMES).
