Crash leads to arrest of wanted Ohio man

GAS CITY, Ind. (WISH) – A suspected rapist was arrest Thursday night after his vehicle crashed on I-69 near the 260 mile marker.

Police arrested David Harris Andrews Jr, 27, of St. Mary Ohio after an Indiana State Police trooper responded to a single vehicle crash around 9:30 p.m. The vehicle crashed into the median cable barrier and was unoccupied when the trooper arrived.

The trooper found the car belonged to Andrews who was wanted on a criminal arrest warrant from Auglaize County Ohio.

ISP and the Gas City Police Department searched nearby businesses and located Andrews behind a gas station near the 259 exit ramp.

Andrews was arrested and is awaiting extradition to Ohio, where he is wanted for strong arm rape, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and gross sexual imposition. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
