COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — Investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire at a home in Columbus Friday morning.

It happened around 8 a.m. at a home on Dawson Street. The woman told firefighters she had no idea how the fire started. She said she had just left the house 15 minutes before the fire was reported, 24-Hour News 8’s news partners at The Republic report.

Fire investigators think the fire started in the back of the house. The woman, who had been renting the home for two years, lost all of her belongings in the fire. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
